Pro tip
Hang tight, we're gathering fresh insights for you.
What you get
A complete Etsy description from a few product details.
Tell it what you're selling and the keywords that matter most, and add a photo or two. Description Generator writes a full listing description with short paragraphs and a bullet list, ready to paste into Etsy.
Opening lines for search
The first lines lead with your product's main appeal and your top keyword, because they're what shoppers see in search results.
Details from your photos
Add up to 3 photos and the description can mention what's in them, like the wood, the hardware or the finish.
A bullet list to scan
Every description includes a short list of key features and specs, so buyers find the facts quickly.
No prices or policies
It leaves out prices, shipping and shop policies, and only mentions care instructions if you include them.
Tone and length
One walnut box, three ways to describe it.
Pick the tone that sounds like your shop. Here's how each one opens for the same product.
“Every anniversary leaves something worth keeping. We shape each walnut box by hand, picturing the rings, notes and little treasures it will hold for years to come.”
“Looking for a gift they'll actually use every day? This walnut box keeps all your favorite rings in one place, and you can add your initials to the lid.”
“Warm walnut grain, hand-rubbed to a soft satin glow. Inside, felt-lined trays cradle every ring, and the lid closes with a quiet click of brass.”
Three lengths
Keep it short for simple products, or go longer when buyers need more detail and you want to cover more keyword variations. Each dot is a sentence.
Focus tags
Add 1 to 3 of your most important keywords. The first goes in the opening lines and the others are used where they read naturally.
13 languages
Write in English (US or UK), Spanish, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Japanese, Swedish or Chinese (simplified or traditional).
Word and character count
Every result shows its word and character count, so you can see the length at a glance.
One-click copy
Copy the description with its line breaks and bullets, and paste it straight into your listing.

What's the difference between the tones?
Story telling is emotional and narrative-driven, building a story around the product. Conversational is friendly and casual, like talking to a friend. Descriptive focuses on vivid, sensory detail. Pick the one that sounds most like your shop.
Which length should I choose?
Short & sweet asks for 3 to 5 sentences and suits simple products. Balanced, 5 to 8 sentences, works for most listings. Keyword stuffed is the longest at 8 to 15 sentences and covers more keyword variations, while still reading naturally.
How many focus tags should I add?
One to three. Put your most important keyword first: it's worked into the opening lines, and the others are used where they fit naturally.
Do I need to add photos?
No, they're optional. With photos, the description can mention what's visible in them, such as materials, colors and finish. Without them, it's written from your product details alone.
Will it add prices, shipping or policies?
No. Those belong in other parts of your listing, so the description leaves them out. Care instructions are only included if you mention them in your product details.
What should a good Etsy description include?
What the product is, its main features and benefits, materials and size, who it's for or what it's for, and your most important keywords used naturally. Short paragraphs and a bullet list make it easy to scan.
Can I use the same description for multiple listings?
It's better to create one for each listing. Unique descriptions are more useful to buyers and help each listing stand on its own. Keep a similar structure across your shop, but change the details for each product.
